When I talk with people about my next book, I usually say, “The second book should be easier because I’m a better writer and I’ve been through the publishing process”. That’s what I hope anyway. Writing one book doesn’t qualify anyone as a great writer. For myself, I believe it qualifies me as a lucky person who found a great editor to work with. I once read, “The best writers are always learning, always looking to improve”. That’s me, for sure, because I hope to continue growing as a writer, and I’m willing to rewrite, rewrite and rewrite some more. Second book syndrome
